Kansas City, Mo. – The MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament is coming up this weeks and starts with first round games hosted by the higher seeds on Nov. 2.
#8 Washburn at #1 Central Missouri
Top seeded Central Missouri starts off their tournament at home against eighth seeded Washburn at 7 p.m. from Warrensburg, Mo. The Jennies won the prior match-up this season earning a 3-0 win Oct. 16 on the road in Topeka.
For the Jennies Jada Scott has led the way on the attack with 33 points scoring 14 goals and dishing out five assists. Between the pipes this season Ana Dilkes is 16-1 with a 0.12 goals against average allowing just two goals in 17 games finishing with 13 shutouts.
For the Ichabods Morgan El-Attrache leads the way with four goals and three assists on the year. In goal Kaitlin Minnich is 7-7-1 with a 1.05 goals against average making 68 saves and recording five shutouts.
The winner will face off with the winner of fourth seeded Northeastern State and fifth seeded Lindenwood.
#7 Missouri Western at #2 Fort Hays State
Second seeded Fort Hays State will play host to seventh seeded Missouri Western at 6 p.m. from Hays, Kan. The Tigers earned a 3-0 win the only other meeting this season on Oct. 9 at home.
On the attack Kelsey Steffens has six goals and five assists and Thayla Dwyer has seven goals while dishing out two assists. In the net Abbie Flas has a 0.36 goals against average with a 12-3-1 record and ten shutouts.
The Griffons are led by Cassidy Menke who has nine goals and one assists for a team best 19 points. In goal Lexie Martin has a 1.07 goals against average with 6-2-0 record and four shutouts.
The winner will face either third seeded Central Oklahoma or sixth seeded Emporia State in the semifinal round.
#6 Emporia State at #3 Central Oklahoma
Third seeded Central Oklahoma will open the tournament playing host to sixth seeded Emporia State at 3 p.m. from Edmond. Emporia State won the earlier meeting between the two teams 2-0 on Oct. 2 in Edmond.
The Bronchos are led on the attack by Katie Killion who has a team best 19 points with eight goals and three assists. Between the pipes Ally Salls is 10-5-1 with a 1.02 goals against average with 64 saves on the year.
The Hornets are led by Maddie Taylor and Tanna Benefiel who each have three goals to go along with three assists. In goal Yadira Rivera has a 0.67 goals against average with four shutouts and 71 saves.
The winner will face either second seeded Fort Hays State or seventh seeded Missouri Western in semifinal action.
#5 Lindenwood at #4 Northeastern State
Fourth seeded Northeastern State will host fifth seed Lindenwood in the opening round at 7 p.m. in Tahlequah. Northeastern State earned a 2-1 win the other match-up this season on Oct. 7 at home.
The RiverHawks are led by Julia Mathis with a team high 29 points scoring 12 goals and five assists. Between the pipes Jordan Woodruff has a 0.60 goals against average with 76 saves and seven shutouts.
The Lions are led by Kat Roe with eight goals and five assists and Becky Roberts who has seven goals and five assists. Between the pipes Lauren Greenstein has a 1.32 goals against average with a 7-1-1 record.
The winner will face either top seeded Central Missouri or eighth seeded Washburn in the semifinal round.
