MIAA ANNOUNCES FINAL ACADEMIC AWARDS

Over seven hundred student athletes earn honors

Kansas City, Mo. – Seven hundred seventy-one MIAA Student Athletes have been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll released today for newcomers in their first year during 2013-14. Of those 770 students, 47 have earned the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award.

Additionally 125 student-athletes have earned Academic Excellence Award honors released at the end of every academic year.
 
To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

The MIAA Scholar Athlete Award is given to those who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors.

The academic excellence award is given to those maintain a 4.0 cumulative grade point average and have at least two terms of attendance excluding summer terms.
