PSU WINS TO EARN SLOT IN MIAA SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP

Will face the winner of 5 p.m. game between MWSU and UCM

Overland Park, Kan. – Pittsburg State defeated Central Missouri in the winner’s bracket final for the chance to face either MWSU or UCM in tomorrow’s MIAA Softball Tournament Championship game.
 
#2 Pittsburg State 4, #1 Central Missouri 2
Second seeded Pittsburg State got two runs in the top of the third and two more in the sixth to advance to the MIAA Softball Tournament’s Championship game.
 
For the Gorillas at the plate Cheslyn Mitchell hit a two run home run going two for four on the afternoon. Kylie Guthier and McKenzie Rynard each also added runs batted in. In the circle Emmie Robertson allowed just four hits while striking out five as she picked up her third win of the tournament.
 
For the Jennies Laruen Mabe went one for three driving in Jakki Prater with a two run home run.
 
PSU will now await either UCM or MWSU in the MIAA Tournament Championship tomorrow at 12 p.m. UCM and MWSU will face off this evening at 5 p.m. to earn a shot at the title game.
