UCM DEFEATS MWSU AT MIAA SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

Will face off with PSU tomorrow at 12 p.m.

Overland Park, Kan. – Central Missouri survived elimination to earn a date with Pittsburg State in the MIAA Softball Tournament Championship.  
 
#1 Central Missouri 3, #4 Missouri Western 1
Top seeded Central Missouri put up a two spot in the bottom of the first and made it hold up as they eliminated fourth seeded Missouri Western and earned a spot in the championship game.

Ali Joe Rogers was two for three and drove in a run while Lauren Mabe and Alex Leonhart also added runs batted in. Lindsey Dawson, Jakki Prater and Austin Eickleberry each scored runs on the afternoon. In the circle Katie Shockley threw a complete game striking out two and allowing just four hits.
 
For the Griffons Paige Shifflett drove in Morgan Rathman to plate their lone run in the game.
 
UCM will now face Pittsburg State needing to win twice with the first of two possible games beginning at 12 p.m. on May 2 from the Blue Valley Recreation Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
