Overland Park, Kan. – Missouri Western stayed alive and will face one more game today at the MIAA Softball Tournament at the Blue Valley Recreation Complex in Overland Park, Kan.  
 
#4 Missouri Western 10, #5 Northwest Missouri 3
With the game tied at three Missouri Western scored six runs in the fifth and sixth inning to stay alive and eliminate fifth seed Northwest Missouri.
 
At the plate for the Griffons Tiffany Gillaspy was three for four with a home run, three runs scored and two runs driven in. Sydney Washington went three for five with two runs scored and two driven in. In the circle Janie Smith pitched a complete game striking out five to pick up her second victory of the day.
 
For the Bearcats at the plate Rebecca Maher went two for three with two runs scored.
 
MWSU will now await the loser of #1 Central Missouri and #2 Pittsburg State in today’s 5 p.m. game.
