Springfield, Mo. – Northwest Missouri defeated Nebraska-Kearney 5-0 to claim the MIAA Men’s Tennis Championship at the Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield, Mo.

NWMSU swept through double setting up a 3-0 lead going into singles. At the #1 slot Alvaro Riveros and Romain Boissinot earned a 9-8 victory. It was close at the #2 slot as well as Aymeric Autones and Maruo Tete pulled out the 9-8 win. Finally at the #3 spot Fin Glowick and Josef Altmann earned an 8-4 win.
 
In singles it was the bottom half of the line-up getting it done as at #5 Altmann earned a 6-2, 6-2 win. IN the #6 slot Fin Glowick closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
 
In the third place match Southwest Baptist came from behind for a 5-4 victory over Lindenwood.

NWMSU earned the MIAA’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament will all other MIAA teams will await their fate at 7:30 p.m. on April 28 on the selection show at ncaa.com
