Springfield, Mo. – The top two seeds earned slots in the MIAA Championship match as the MIAA Men’s Tournament rolled on in Springfield, Mo.
 
Northwest Missouri 5, Lindenwood 0
Northwest Missouri started things off in doubles as at the #1 spot Alvaro Riveros and Romain Boissinot earned an 8-1 victory. It was close at #2 doubles, but NWMSU’s Aymeric Autones and Maruo Tete pulled out a 9-8 win. Finally at the #3 spot Fin Glowick and Josef Altmann earned the 8-2 tally.
 
In singles NWMSU got it down at the bottom of the ledger as #5 singles player Josef Altmann earned the 6-3, 6-0 victory. Fin Glowick did not drop a set to help his team close out the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Slobodan Bavrlic.
 
Northwest Missouri will now take on Nebraska-Kearney in the MIAA Championship match and Lindenwood will face Southwest Baptist in the third place match, both will be played at 12 p.m. on April 26 from the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
 
Nebraska-Kearney 5, Southwest Baptist
Nebraska-Kearney got things rolling with a sweep of doubles starting at the #1 spot where Georges Wakim and Lucas Garces pulled out an 8-3 victory. Things were tight at #2 doubles as Joey Richard and Mohab El Zanaty edged out Chris Blodig and Torben Semrau by a 9-7 tally. Jack Nicholson and Justin Nguyen earned an 8-1 victory at the #3 spot to complete the sweept.
 
Nebraska-Kearney would then shut the door in the singles round as Mohab El Zanaty earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #3 slot. He would be followed by Justin Nguyen who close out the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the #6 spot.
 
Nebraska-Kearney will now take on Northwest Missouri in the MIAA Championship match and Southwest Baptist will face Lindenwood in the third place match, both will be played at 12 p.m. on April 26 from the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
