Kansas City, Mo. -- Second seeded Emporia State outrebounded #3 Pittsburg State 40-22 as they won 67-53 in the MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament semifinals.
The Lady Hornets were led by Merissa Quick and Kelly Moten who each finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Jacee Kramer finished with 10 points and Kathryn Flott also pulled down eight boards.
The Gorillas were led by Mikaela Burgess who scored 16 points on the evening. Lizzy Jeronimus and Antqunita Reed each finished with nine points and a team best four rebounds.
ESU will now play in the MIAA Championship game at 3:30 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
