Kansas City, Mo. -- Third seeded Missouri Southern shot .528 from the field as they knocked off #2 Central Missouri 81-74 in the MIAA Men's Basketball Tournament semifinals.
For the Lions Taevaunn Prince led the way scoring 22 points and pulling down six rebounds while Cameron Cornelius added 14 points. Greg Renfroe and Austin Wright each finished with 12 points while Lane Barlow added 10 points.
For the Mules Brennen Hughes led the way with 18 points and a team best nine rebounds. Preston Brunz had 16 points, TJ White added 12 points and eight boards and Rakeem Dickerson finished with 11 points.
MSSU will now play in the MIAA Championship game at 1 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

This will be the second straight MIAA Championship appearance for the Missouri Southern Lions
MSSU is the first team to appear in back to back title games since UCM did it in 2006-2007
This is the second straight championship game to feature the third seed facing off with the fifth seed
