Kansas City, Mo. -- The quarterfinal session of the MIAA Men's Basketball Tournament came to a close as Missouri Southern defeated Nebraska-Kearney 97-88 on Thursday.
The Lions were led by Taevaunn Prince how had a double-double with 26 points and a game high 16 rebounds. Cameron Cornelius had 19 points while Lane Barlow and Charlie Brown added 14 points each. Greg Refroe finished with 12 points while Barlow had a game high six assists.
The Lopers were led by Ethan Brozek who had a double-double scoring 35 points and pulling down a team best 13 rebounds. Connor Beranek added 12 points and six boards while Ty Danielson had 11 points. Kevin Dineen finished with 10 points and Isaiah McKay had three assists.
Missouri Southern will face off with #2 Central Missouri at 2:15 p.m. on March 7 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
