MIAA ANNOUNCES MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Kansas City, Mo. – Missouri Southern’s Darion Boure has been named the MIAA Field Athlete of the Week with Central Missouri’s Kellin Loch earning Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Competing at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational this past weekend, Boure improved on his school record by six inches when he picked up a provisional distance and won the triple jump with a distance of 50-03.75. That mark ranks third nationally, tops in the MIAA, and gives the Lions two top 11 marks in the event this year. The 6-0 senior jumber is a native of St. Louis, Mo. where he competed at University City High School.

MIAA Track Athlete of the Week
Kellin Loch, Central Missouri

Loch was a part of two school records at the Grand Valley Big Meet this past weekend. First, Loch broke a 12-year old UCM record in the 800m run, running an NCAA provo-time of 1:49.84, the best in the MIAA and fourth in D2. He then anchored the 4x400m relay team to another school record. The team ran a PQ time of 3:11.59, second-best in D2, to set a UCM record that had stood since 1997. The junior sprinter is a native of Warrensburg, Mo. where he competed at Warrensburg High School.
