Kansas City, Mo. -- The MIAA wrestlers will take to the mat this weekend as teams vie for the MIAA Tournament Championship.
Team Capsules
Central Missouri
Central Missouri went 1-4 in the league duals this season with an overall record of 5-12. The Mules received votes in the latest NCAA Division II Wrestling rankings and have one wrestler currently ranked in the nations top eight at his weight class.
Wrestlers to watch: Frank Cagnina - At 149 pounds he is ranked #2 in the nation and has a 16-1 record with five pins.
Malacai Collins - At 125 pounds has a 14-8 record on the year with one pin.
Josh Thomson - At 165 pounds has a 24-9 record with 12 pins on the year.
Archie Williams - At 174 he was 18-10 with eight total pins.
Central Oklahoma
Nebraska-Kearney went 2-3 in league play this season and were 7-9 overall on the year in duals. The Bronchos are currently ranked #14 in the nation and have two wrestlers that are ranked in the respective weight classes.
Wrestlers to watch: Chris Watson - Ranked #1 at 165 pounds where he is 31-0 on the year with 11 pins.
Dustin Reed - At 133 pounds he is ranked #4 in the nation and is 22-8 on the year with four pins.
Spencer Rutherford - At 149 pounds he was 24-8 on the year with seven pins.
Colton Gallo - At 174 pounds he was 13-6 on the year with one pin.
Kyle Factor - At Heavyweight he went 21-13 with 11 pins on the year.
Fort Hays State
Fort Hays State went 8-6 overall and finished 3-2 in the dual matches this season. The Tigers are currently ranked #19 in the country and have four wrestlers that are currently ranked in their weight classes.
Wrestlers to watch: Trey Page - At Heavyweight is ranked #5 and has a 38-2 record with nine pins.
Josh Rodriguez - At 174 pounds is ranked #7 in the nation with a 15-6 record and two pins.
Noah Killip - At 141 pounds is #8 in the nation with 24-3 record and three pins.
Jon Inman - At 184 pounds Jon Inman is ranked #8 in the country with a 30-5 record and a squad best 10 pins
Lindenwood
Lindenwood is 7-2 in dual matches this season going a perfect 5-0 and claiming their first league championship. The Lions are currently ranked #12 in the nation and have four wrestlers that are currently ranked in their respective weight classes.
Wrestlers to watch: Terrel Wilbourn - At 149 pounds is ranked #3 in the nation where he is 6-1 on the year.
Kenny Breaux - At 197 pounds he is ranked #4 in the nation where is 21-7 with one pin on the year.
Kyle Webb - At 141 pounds is ranked #5 in the nation where he is 24-9 and has scored 51 team points this season.
Marcos Tamayo - At 125 pounds he is ranked #7 in the nation with a 7-4 record on the year.
John McArdle - At 184 pounds he is 9-5 on the year with one pin.
Nebraska-Kearney

Tournament Notes: At 149 pounds three of the nations top eight grapplers will meet on the MIAA Tournament mats. Every weight class features at least one ranked wrestler with four of them featuring two or more ranked wrestlers. The tournament features four teams that are currently ranked in the nations top twenty. Nebraska-Kearney enters the tournament as the two-time defending champion while the league’s dual championship has gone to three different teams over the last three years.
