Kansas City, Mo. -- The season is set to get underway today with all teams being in action before league play starts on Feb. 20 in MIAA baseball.

#22 Central Missouri opens season in Houston

2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .322, ERA 4.13
#22 Central Missouri will open their season in Houston for four games including a match-up with #17 Arkansas Tech. The top returner at the plate for the Mules is Jake Alexander who hit .383 with 35 runs batted in and 42 runs scored last season. On the mound Ricky Rivera went 6-2 with a 3.79 earned run average in 11 starts.
Central Oklahoma starts things out on the road

2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .350, ERA 3.88
Central Oklahoma will open the season with three games on the road at Arkansas-Fort Smith. The top returning hitter for the Bronchos is Jake O’Brien who hit .419 with four home runs and 32 runs driven in. On the mound Ricky Reeves went 8-2 with a 2.12 earned run average in 13 starts last season.
#6 Emporia State opens at home

2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .288, ERA 4.02
#6 Emporia State will open the season with five straight on their home turf. Returning at the plate Price Jacobs hit .342 with nine home runs and 35 RBI and Dean Long hit .309 with 14 home runs and 64 runs driven in and Justin Harris who stole 44 bases. On the mound Shawn Talkington went 9-2 with a 2.85 earned run average in 16 total appearances.
Fort Hays State opens up next week

Fort Hays State will not open their season until Feb. 13 with three at home. The top returner at the plate for the Tigers is Kevin Czarnecki who hit .350 with eight home runs and 43 runs batted in. On the mound Austin Unrein was 3-3 with a 7.73 ERA.
Lincoln begins the year against ranked teams

2014 Team Stats: Batting Average .212, ERA 10.08
Lincoln will face two teams ranked in the top 25 when they begin play on Feb. 14. The top returner at the plate for the Blue Tigers is Kaleb Davis who hit .211 with three home runs and 11 runs batted in. On the mound Gus Goodnight had a 9.12 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched.
Lindenwood begins year away from home

Lindenwood will open the season with #9 Southern Arkansas as they open the season with 13 away from home. Top returner for the Lions is Nathan Prindle who hit .273 with four home runs and 28 RBI. On the mound Dylan Terrell was 3-4 with a 4.10 ERA on the year.
Missouri Southern waits until Feb. 14

Missouri Western faces #17 Arkansas Tech to open the year
