Kansas City, Mo. – Central Oklahoma advanced to Springfield while two others series have been pushed to game three.
#3 Central Oklahoma 4, #6 Nebraska-Kearney 3
Third seeded Central Oklahoma got an eighth inning home run to win the game and series against Nebraska-Kearney. UCO got four extra base hits as they earned a spot in next week’s portion of the tournament in Springfield, Mo.
Wacey Henderson hit the go ahead home run and Jake O’Brien had a home run and three runs driven in. For the Lopers Brandon Landanger was three for five with a double and an RBI. On the mound Landon Hallam earned the win pitching an inning of relief and Phillip Wilson picked up the save.
#8 Northeastern State 6, #1 Central Missouri 5 (11)
It took extra innings but eighth seeded Northeastern State took a 1-0 lead in the series at top seeded Central Missouri. NSU took advantage of three Mule errors scoring the final two runs of the game unearned.
David Weber hit a home run and drove in two runs for the RiverHawks. Kyle Singleton also added a home run and Tyler Wilkins scored twice. For the Mules Trevor Jones had a home runs scoring two runs as well as driving in two. Brad Wilson went three for six in the game and drove in two runs. On the mound Zack Hammock earned the win and Bobby Sehgal came on to get the save.
#7 Washburn 10, #2 Emporia State 4
Washburn used a strong offensive output to even the series with Emporia State and force a decisive game three. The Ichabods racked up 14 hits and scored three runs in both the sixth and seventh inning.
Corey Gragg was three for six with two runs batted in to lead WU. Connor Crimmins had three hits driving in two runs as David Gauntt added a home runs and scored twice. For the Hornets Levi Parker led the way driving in two runs while Wade Hanna scored twice. On the mound Taylor Gentry pitched five solid innings striking out four to earn the win while Maustin Otterstatter pitched four innings in relief to pick up the save.
#4 Missouri Western 10, #5 Southwest Baptist 5
Missouri Western put up four runs in the second inning and then held off a Southwest Baptist comeback to force a decisive game three. The Griffons racked up 16 hits and took advantage of two Bearcat errors.
At the plate for MWSU Ryan Degner was four for four with three runs driven in and added a double and a home run. Jake Schrader, double, tripled and drove in three runs while also scoring two. For the Bearcats Christian Binger hit a three run home runs and Drew Miller was two for four with an RBI and a run scored. On the mound Jake Jones earned the win and Josh Lansangan came on to pitch the final 3.2 innings and earn the save.
