Lawrence, Kan. – The Central Missouri men widened their lead as the Central Oklahoma did the same as the day two of the MIAA Golf Championships came to a close.
On the men’s side UCM pushed their lead to 23 strokes as they remain five under par for the tournament. Northeastern State and Washburn are tied for second as each sit 18 over par and Lincoln is fourth at 19 over par. Lindenwood rounds out the top five at 21 to par after shooting 12-over today.
Individually UCM has the top three with Cy Moritz shooting one under par today to move to five under par for the tournament. Robby Hughey tied for the low round of the day firing a 69, three under par to finish go to three under for the tournament.
Tied for third is Travis Mays of UCM who is one under par joined by Clayton Moles of Southwest Baptist. Ron McHenry of Washburn, who also shot a 69 today is tied for Lindenwood’s Jake Smock at even par.
Central Oklahoma gained six more strokes as they sit at 65-over par 12 strokes ahead of Northeastern State who is 77-over par. Northwest Missouri is in third place at 121 strokes over par, seven strokes ahead of Lindenwood who is 128-over par. Rounding out the top five is Nebraska-Kearney at 135-over par.
Indvidually Taylor Neidy shot a 78 to stay on the top of the leaderboard at 10-over par through 36 holes. Baylee Price of Northeastern State gained one stroke shooting the low round of the day at 77 to finished day two at 12-over par. She is one stroke ahead of June Tigert of Central Oklahoma who is 13-over par.
Sofia Castiello of Northeastern State sits one stroke back of them at 14-over par for the first two rounds. Arizona Chin, also of Northeastern State rounds out the top five at 21 strokes from par.
