Kansas City, Mo. – MIAA Player of the Year Keuna Flax hit a shot with five second to play as top seed Central Missouri earned a 71-69 victory over fifth seed Fort Hays State. FHSU erased a 14-point UCM lead, but held on to earn their second straight trip to the MIAA Championship.
For the Jennies Flax led the way with 24 points and Revonnia Howard pulled down a game high 13 rebounds. Shelby Winkelmann added 11 points and BreAnna Lewis scored 10 points and dished out seven assists. For the Tigers Kate Lehman had a double-double scoring 17 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Chelsea Mason added 16 points and Katelyn Edwards finished with 15 points and eight boards.
Central Missouri will face either #2 Emporia State or #11 Southwest Baptist in the MIAA Championship at 1 p.m. on March 9 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
