EMPORIA STATE COMES FROM BEHIND TO ADVANCE IN WOMEN'S TOURNEY

Kansas City, Mo. – Second seed Emporia State a 12-point deficit, but came from behind to defeated #10 seed Central Oklahoma 77-68 in the quarterfinal round. The Lady Hornets shot .457 from the field in the second half to earn a spot in the semi finals.

The Lady Hornets were led by Merissa Quick who had 17 points and seven rebounds while Laura Patrick and Kionnna Kellog each added seven boards. Rheanna Egli and Haley Parker each finished with 10 points as they opened up the evening session. For the Bronchos Britney Morgan led the way scoring 15 points and Olivia Mason had eight rebounds. Jill Bryan had 12 points and four assists and Julia Mason had 11 points.

Emporia State will face the winner of #3 Pittsburg State and #11 Southwest Baptist at 2:15 p.m. on March 8 from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
