Hays, Kan. – Third seeded Fort Hays State earned a 1-0 double overtime shutout over sixth seed Missouri Western to earn a spot in the semi-finals of the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.

The game needed more than the allotted 90 minutes as both goalkeepers kept their opponents scoreless through the first overtime as well. In the 108th minute Kelsey Steffens took a shot from the near post off a pass from Gabrielle Makatura to give her team the victory.

In goal for the Tigers Kristen Thompson earned the shutout playing the full game and stopping four shots. For the Griffons in net Sarah Lyle stopped eight shots during the game.
 
Fort Hays State will face second seed Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 from the College Boulevard Activities Complex in Olathe, Kan.
