Pulls out 3-1 win to move on to semi-finals

Bolivar, Mo. – Second seeded Southwest Baptist scored three times in the first 30 minutes to advance with a 3-1 victory over Emporia State in the opening round of the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
 
Kate Jamison netted the first goal at the 5:58 mark off an assist from sister Karla Jamison. It was then Karla Jamison finding the back of the net in the 19th minute off a pass from Taylor Schmidt.

Karla Jamison would add the third goal unassisted in the 26th minute. Emporia State would grab their lone goal in the 79th minute as Amelie Heun scored off a cross from Kelsey Wakefield. In goal for the Bearcats Kaitlin Webb made her first start of the season allowing just one goal while stopping three shots while for the Hornets Yadira Rivera stopped seven shots.
 
Southwest Baptist will now await the winner of the Fort Hays State/Missouri Western game later today in a match on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m from the College Boulevard Activities Complex.
