Olathe, Kan. – It took extra penalty kicks but Lindenwood survived to win their second straight MIAA Tournament Championship 0-0 (6-5 PK) over Fort Hays State.

The game saw 110 minutes of tough defense as the two teams combined for only seven shots on goal through two periods and two overtimes. Fermin Hughes earned the shutout for the Lions, but Alex Tiesenhausen came off the bench and stonewalled the Tigers on their final penalty to put his team in position to win.

Franz Husbands hit the final penalty for the Lions to give his team the win and a shot at playing in the post-season.

Official brackets and pairings for the NCAA Division II Championships will be announced on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at www.ncaa.com.
