Knock off Washburn 2-0 in semi-final action

Olathe, Kan. – Eighth seeded Central Oklahoma advanced to the MIAA Championship match with a 2-0 win over fourth seeded Washburn.

On a windy day Miranda Thorne got the scoring started in the 22nd minute scoring an unassisted goal off of a deflection. Emily Precure would add the second goal hitting from the middle of the box off a Paige Matacchiera assist.

Brandi Bartley turned away four Washburn shots to earn the shutout victory.

Central Oklahoma will face the winner of tonight’s Emporia State/Southwest Baptist Semi-Final in the MIAA Championship on Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. from College Boulevard Activities Complex.
