Pull out 2-1 win over Emporia State

Olathe, Kan. – Third seeded  Southwest Baptist used two first half goals to advance to the MIAA Women’s Soccer Championship with a 2-1 win over Emporia State.

In the first going with the wind Southwest Baptist struck first as Karla Jamison scored off a rebound to give SBU 1-0 lead. Jamison would then add a second goal in the 35th minute off an assist from Kate Jamison.

In the second half Emily Hazelwood would get an unassisted goal off a deflection in the box. Paige Hemphill earned the win for the Bearcats turning away two Hornet shots and ESU’s Yadira Rivera turned away nine SBU shots in the loss.

Southwest Baptist will face Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Championship game on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. from the College Boulevard activities complex.
