Kansas City, Mo. – Top seeded Lindenwood used a 3-1 victory over Upper Iowa to advance to their second straight MIAA tournament Championship.

Ignacio Romero got the scoring started for Lindenwood in the 22nd minute scoring an unassisted goal. Leandro Pena would knot things up in the 32nd minute connecting on a penalty shot. MIAA Player of the Year Mauricio Medina would put his team ahead for good in the 44th minute off a pass from Ignacio Romero and Axel Duarte.

Ithiel Vale would head in a shot off a corner in the 85th minute giving the assist to Ignacio Romero. Fermin Hughes made three saves on the evening to pick up the victory and advance his team.

Lindenwood will face Fort Hays State in the MIAA Championship on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at the College Boulevard Activities Complex.
