Kansas City, Mo. -- The MIAA women's basketball season is slated to get underway for may teams this weekend.
Upcoming MIAA Previews:
#8 Central Missouri opens the season at home

Upcoming: 11/9 vs. #23 Minnesota State 7 p.m. 11/13 vs. William Jewell
#8 Central Missouri will open the 2013-14 campaign at home against #23 Minnesota State and William Jewell. The top returner for the Jennies is Keuna Flax who averaged 19.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Shelby Winkelmann will return to the line-up after averaging 17.6 points through the first eight games.
Central Oklahoma hits the road to start things off

Upcoming: 11/8 vs. Texas A&M Commerce 3 p.m. 11/9 vs. Hillsdale 3 p.m. 11/12 at Arkansas Fort Smith 6 p.m.
Central Oklahoma will hit the road for the St. Edward’s Classic in Austin, Texas to open the 2013-14 campaign. They will then hit the road for Arkansas Fort Smith in their first true road game. Jill Bryan is the top returner for the Bronchos averaging 10.9 points and 5.1 rebounds last year.
#5 Emporia State heads for California

#5 Emporia State will open the season in Anaheim, Calif for the Disney Tip-Off Classic that will include a match-up with #9 Concordia St. Paul. Laura Patrick was the Lady Hornets top scores averaging 14.7 points while Merissa Quick averaged 6.6 rebounds per contest.
Fort Hays State takes week one off

Upcoming: First game on 11/13 at Northwestern Oklahoma St. 6 p.m.
Fort Hays State will take week one off before opening the year on the road at Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kate Lehman led the Tigers in scoring with 16.4 points and rebounds with 8.4 boards per game last year.
Lincoln readies for home opener

Lincoln heads to Fayette, Mo. for the Central Methodist Classic before facing McKendree at home. Their top returner on offense is Jackeya Mitchell who averaged 6.3 points per game while on the glass Nesha Wright averaged 4.8 rebounds.

Lindenwood opens the season with a three game road trip starting at Arkansas-Monticello and LeMoyne-Owen. Julie Hlinak is the top returning scorer for the Lions averaging 12.8 points per game and Caroline Bourlioux averaged 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Missouri Southern opens the year on the road

Missouri Southern plays Drury on the road and will open a three game homestand in week two. The top returner for the Lions is Dominique Mosley who averaged 9.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
