Kansas City, Mo. – Third seeded Nebraska-Kearney earned a spot in the MIAA Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 win over second seeded Washburn. UNK held WU to just .105 hitting as they picked up the 25-15, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-22 victory.
For the Lopers Kinslie TeKolste led all hitters with 16 kills adding three total blocks. Ashley Leitner hit .355 for the match with 12 kills joined by Katie Sokolowski who also finished with 12 kills. Erin Seele had a team best 43 assists and Liz McGowan added 27 digs.
For the Ichabods Marissa Cox led the way with 13 kills adding four total blocks and seven digs. Corrine Sringer had 12 kills and Sarah Victory added ten kills and four blocks. Abby Wittman had a double-double with 33 assists and 24 digs and Kelsey Lewis added a team best 25 digs.
UNK advances to face the winner of Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. on Nov. 23 from Warrensburg, Mo.
