Kansas City, Mo. – Fourth seeded Central Oklahoma held fifth seeded Emporia State to just .164 hitting as they swept them 3-0 in the first round of the MIAA Volleyball Tournament. UCO forced 28 total ESU errors throughout the match to earn the 25-14, 28-26 and 25-19 victory.

For the Bronchos Barbara Jackson led the way on the attack with 19 kills and also added seven digs. Allison Barr had 13 kills and hit .462 for the match while Juliette Smith added five blocks. Taylyn Schwartz had a team best 41 assists and Tate Hardaker had 18 digs.

For the Hornets Paige Vanderpool finished with a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs. Katie Deutschmann had eight kills and hit .667 while Carly Spicer led the way with six digs. Macki Pankratz had 18 assists and Sydney Hartman had 17 assists on the evening.

Central Oklahoma advances to face Central Missouri on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. from Warrensburg, Mo.
