Kansas City, Mo. -- Fort Hays State won their second straight match-up in overtime and third straight against a higher ranked opponent to wrap up their first MIAA Women's Soccer Championship. The Tigers got a 2-1 victory on the road against top-seeded and 12th ranked Central Missouri to earn the Centennial Championship.
The scoring got going early as Jordan Hester scored her 10th goal of the season off a pass from Bethany Keefer in the games second minute. The Jennies would answer in the ninth minute as Aaryn Burke scored on an unassisted tally. The game would remain scoreless for the next 97 minutes before Joanne Glynn scored the game winner six minutes into the second overtime.
Fort Hays State earns a bid to the NCAA Central Regional with their win, and Central Missouri will now wait to see if they receive an at large selection.
