Kansas City, Mo. – Nebraska-Kearney got stronger as the night went on as they rolled to a 3-0 victory in the MIAA Championship. The Lopers hit .258 on the way to a 25-23, 25-18 and 25-9 Tournament Title victory.
For UNK Katie Sokolowski hit a match high .440 and had 12 kills on the night. Ashley Leitner hit .375 and had 10 kills. Jenna Rouzee finished with 35 assists and 11 digs to finish with a double-double. Liz McGowan led the team with 23 total digs while MJ Massanet added 12 to the effort.
For UCM Carly Sojka had 13 kills to lead the team and finished with a double-double adding 10 digs. Julia Bates also had a double-double with 25 assists and 11 digs. Annie Reilly finished with a team high 17 digs.
Nebraska-Kearney earns the MIAA’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Central Regional and the other MIAA squads will look for an at-large bid.
