Jennies make MIAA Volleyball Tournament Championship

Kansas City, Mo. – Third seeded Central Missouri came back from down 2-1 to advance to the MIAA Volleyball Championship with a 3-2 win over second seeded Washburn. The Jennies fought their way to a 25-22, 24-26, 13-25, 25-23 and 15-11 victory.

Carly Sojka had a double-double with 17 kills and 26 digs. Bradye Peniston finished with 14 kills and six digs. Julia Bates had eight kills, 43 assists and eight digs as Annie Reilly finished with 25 digs. Sara Rooney and Mikalee Monachina each added 17 digs.

Jessica Kopp had 14 kills, Marissa Cox had 12 kills and Jessica Fey had 11 kills for the Lady Blues. Hillary Hughes had a double-double with 13 kills and 16 digs as did Kelsey Lewis with 14 kills and 15 digs. Gracie Peterson had 47 assists and Courtney Churchman had 33 digs.

Central Missouri will face the winner of the ESU-UNK match at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 from Kearney, Neb.
