Hornets move on with road win over Bulldogs

Kansas City, Mo. – Fifth seeded Emporia State went on the road moved on a with a 3-1 upset victory of fourth seeded Truman.

The Hornets were led by Katie Duetschmann’s triple-double with 11 kills, 24 assists and ten digs. Paige Vanderpool had a double-double with 13 kills and 23 digs while Brianna Kaiser added 10 kills and nine digs. Sydney Hartman had 25 assists and Meg Schwartz added 16 digs.

For the Bulldogs Allie Brak had a double-double with 18 kills and 15 digs. Megan Sharpe hit .414 on the night with 13 kills and six blocks. Meghan Zimmerman had 39 assists and Abby Moser added 21 digs.

Emporia State will face Nebraska-Kearney on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. from Kearney, Neb.
